verizon smartphone data plan?
Question by panicbdfan: verizon smartphone data plan?
so i am due for an upgrade soon & wanted to get the palm pixi which is a smartphone and requires a data plan.
so right now i have a env3 and am paying to have internet on my phone and another 3G multimedia phone.
on the the website it say
“All Windows Mobile, Palm, BlackBerry and Android Smartphones require a data feature of $ 29.99 or higher OR a data plan”
so my question is since i am paying to have internet on my phone is that considered a data plan? & will that then allow me to keep paying the same and still get the smartphone?
or will i still have to switch over to the $ 29.99 data feature?
& if so what does that thirty bucks cover?
& since i am the only one eligible for an upgrade and i still have to pay for the internet on the other multimedia phone, will i have to pay that and the thirty bucks on top of it? or is there a data plan that covers both the new smartphone data & the multimedia data , & if so how much it is?
thanks!

if you want the Pixi, your $ 10 data plan will be changed to the $ 30 plan. That plan gives you unlimited internet access on the phone- email, web browsing, apps, etc. The other multimedia phone will still carry the $ 10 plan- data is always billed per phone, so that if someone wants a phone with no internet access, they can get one, and you’re not stuck paying extra for a shared data plan when not everyone wants it

Iphone Data Plan Cancel?
Question by Michelle: Iphone Data Plan Cancel?
My family recently opened an AT&T account and we got two lines with two iphones. My cousin took one of the phones and is using it with t-mobile with plans to call in and cancel the data plan on it later in the month. I was wondering since I live in NYC and I use internet on my laptop and not my cell, could I also call in and cancel the data plan without AT&T threatening us in some way?
P.S. I know you can not just call in and say “I want to cancel my Iphone data plan,” but there are ways around that =P
Any help would be nice =)

No there are not ways around it for very long. Every time an iPhone is turned on it registerd with the network and the device IMEI is captured in the billing system. If the billing system sees there is no iPhone data plan it will automatically be added back on without any contact to you

Will T-mobile ask for IMEI when I get the Even More Plus Plan?
Question by pinoy1226: Will T-mobile ask for IMEI when I get the Even More Plus Plan?
Ok so I bought a stolen phone from a guy. It’s a g1 btw. Their is nothing wrong with the phone it works fine and it’s pretty much fresh. As of right now I have a prepaid sim in it and I want to get the “even more plus plan”. My only fear is that when I go to the tmobile store they will want the IMEI and I’m guessing the person who originally had the phone reported the phone stolen or something like that maybe cancel the account or did a keep a lookout for this phone. But yeah anyways how would I approach this situation? Do I go to the store without the phone and say “hey my phone is at home but can I buy this plan and activate it” and they will give me the sim and all is done. But my main question I guess is will tmobile ask for the IMEI in order for the activation of the plan.

Gee, I don’t know if they’ll ask for it or not. But I sure hope they do.
I want to see the look on your face when they confiscate the phone.
Buying a knowingly stolen phone. Real nice.

my phone’s plan expired today. confused, help?
Question by ▌▌█ kiss me kate║: my phone’s plan expired today. confused, help?
so i called t-mobile, and they said that i was “off the plan” or something like that.
i really don’t like “t-mobe” so i’m switching to verizon. BUT….
can i bring my number to verizon? AND if i do…will my t-mobile plan be completely
done, or will it some how be working still?
at this moment, i can still send texts, which is strange since i’m not “on the plan” anymore.
someone help, i’m confused, and the t-mobile website is NOT helpful at all =(

Once you are ‘off contract’, you revert to a month-to-month plan.
So, your phone will still work until you formally cancel.
You’ll just be billed under the terms of your old contract.
To port your number to Verizon, let Verizon do it when you sign for a Verizon contract.
Most companies will ask you if you are transferring an old number when you sign up and take care of it.
If you cancel with T-Mobil first, you’ll lose the number.

Is this possible for family unlimited texting on an individual plan?
Question by Kirby Dixon: Is this possible for family unlimited texting on an individual plan?
Hey, my brother has a plan for T-Mobile and has my mom in his plan. We got a special deal for getting this phone I like, and I might be able to get in their plan too. The problem is, I was wondering if we could get a family plan text messaging for the “Individual plan” that we have.
We can change to a family plan if need be, but I think it would be easier on our current plan.

Is anyone familiar with Sprint’s “cellphone as modem plan”?
Question by Jay: Is anyone familiar with Sprint’s “cellphone as modem plan”?
not sure if it’s out in the market yet, but i was reading about it in wikipedia. they have or will have a plan where you can use your cellphone for internet access to any computer.
right now i have the sprint’s mobile broadband sierra wireless AirCard, wich uses the cell phone network for internet, but if it was a cellphone also, i could cancel my regular cell.

Do I absolutely have to get a Premium Mobile Internet Plan for the LG Tritan on US Cellular?
Question by ali (:: Do I absolutely have to get a Premium Mobile Internet Plan for the LG Tritan on US Cellular?
I’m getting a phone for my birthday in August, and I really want the LG Tritan from US Cellular. It’s only around $ 100, but it says it “Requires Premium Mobile Internet Plan” which is $ 20 a month.. I have to sign up for a 2 year contract, so that means $ 480 EXTRA spent on internet for my phone. We can’t afford that extra $ 480, but I would like to get the phone. Is there any way for me to not get the internet, and JUST THE PHONE?
Best answer:
Answer by KlsMyr
Unfortunatly, the Premium Mobile Internet is required. There is no way around not paying the .95 per month for it. When the phone is activated on your account it is automatically added and cannot be removed unless you switch to a phone that doesn’t require it.

Q&A: go back on my parents cell plan or keep my prepaid?
Question by halfwaygone09: go back on my parents cell plan or keep my prepaid?
ok so we have no hosue phone…so on a prepaid altel i pay a dollar a day for unlimited text.. altel to altel…and after 9 nites and weekends. with other calls it amounts to about 35-40 a month now. I have the cheap 25 dollar phone with no camera just basic and thats ok with me i never did pic messages when i had a camera phone anyway jsut took em and kept em on there for show not send
My parents plan: *family plan” ( free after 7pm nites and weekends….can get unlimited texting and web is a bonus with that….still have altel to altel and a bonus few numbers cause of the ten number thing.
since my mother is getting herself a new phone she will GIVE me her old one…meaning i dont have to pay for it or the fee to the activation fee and its a nice scoop keyboard phone–in my fav color orange none the less! — Bill— $ 20 for text $ 15 for my line plus tax (my lil sister pays bout 5.25 for tax with her’s and she has the exact same planning) so round 40-45 a month
with it being free after 7 wont really use any of the plan minutes and as long as i lock my phone and dont over use minutes or anything my parents dont care what i do with it…. btw have a job to pay my prepaid and will continue paying my part on my parnets line…
This is a great idea cause Im going to the military after graduate high school in may..they will freeze my phone till i get outa boot camp. i could switch my line over to my name ..plan to also take my grandmothers on my line and pay for hers cause i want to get her web acess for a laptop.

you are never going to find a plan with a lot of texting for less than 30. I have t-moblie and i pay about 50 for Unlimited talk and text.and if you go to a dealer they will give you a good deal for the sidekick. IF you don’t want to pay much then go to metro. Thats the only two companys i had. But the metro phones aren’t that good. It really your choice.
